If there is one song that springs to mind when you think Purity Ring, it’s probably Fineshrine.
One of the stand-out singles from the Canadian duo’s debut, 2012 album Shrines, this track manages to build a great sense of warmth through the pairing of glistening, electronic instrumentation and angelic vocals, despite the lyrics being rather grotesque at some points. For example: “Cut open my sternum and pull my little ribs around you”. A little gross, but cute?
The track has reeled in millions upon millions of plays over the past 6-years, and definitely paved the path of success for the group in their early days.
