This iPad App Creates Synthetic Vocal Sounds

Wolfgang Palm will soon be releasing a app for the iPad that will let you create and synthesise vocal phrases unlike anything you have heard before.

Wolfgang Palm is the inventor of a number of pioneering technical designs for both analogue and digital synthesizers, he is also the founder and owner of Palm Products.

The PPG allows the user experiment with ‘phonemes’ – Distinct units of sound that distinguish one word from another. This will generate a wide range of words and phrases that couldn’t be created otherwise.

“The human voice is a very complex system, which can produce a wide range of sounds. It is however restricted by natural physical dimensions. Phoneme’s do not impose limits, letting you create all the filter configurations and sweeps you could only ever have dreamed of.”

– Wolfgang Palm

The PPG Phoneme was originally designed for vocal synths although it turns out that this app will be capable of creating much more, in fact it will be possible to produce a large range of universal synth sounds.

At this point in time there is no set release date or price for the PPG Phoneme app, but if you are eager to manipulate something, you can buy the PPG Wavemapper Synth App for the iPad for $25.51 AU.
