It’s been a long time coming and we’re excited to be launching our first ever Stoney Roads Awards that’ll look to credit a well deserved ‘Producer of the Year’ for 2014.
Working closely with 21 labels* in Australia & New Zealand, we’ve gone the extra yards in making this a fair, simple and clever awards that’ll focus on the current generation of dance and electronic music producers (no, not just DJs) who have released something through a label in the last 12 months, be it a single, remix, EP or album.
Those labels who have put forward submissions also get a hand in the voting process so that the final results won’t be the same old same old winners i.e. those with inflated fan bases (c’mon Stafford Brothers again?) and instead mean the tastemakers guiding Australia & New Zealand’s dance and electronic music scene get their say as well. Oh, and nope, the labels will not be able to vote for their own producers.
What does it all mean for you though?
For starters those voting in the awards can get their hands on some hefty gear from Pioneer DJ with three major prizes that could mean nabbing the latest and greatest controllers from the innovative tech company be it the brilliant new DDJSR, extra mobile DDJWEGO2-K, Serato ready DDJSB or even some SDJ60X monitors. Meanwhile SOL REPUBLIC have put together custom pairs of custom ‘Stoney Roads’ headphones – so you can get Stoney and read Stoney, while listening to Stoney with Stoney on your head dawg!
Voting opens today with final votes cast on Sunday the 3rd of August 2014 11pm (AEST). You must sign up and vote by then to be eligible to win any of the prizes. Once the votes have been counted, an official announce and awards night will be held in Sydney on Wednesday August 6th.
Get voting for your favourite Australian & New Zealand producers now!
