Here at Stoney’s we do occasionally enjoy a no-pants party to our favourite artists of yester-year, so it’s a freakin’ dream when some of our contemporary faves get involved for a cheeky covers, and even better when it’s for a cause.
So it is, some serious legends will be doing original takes on some of Duran Duran’s lesser known hits. In a compilation aptly titled Make Patterns Rhyme, the disc is set for release on February 25th will all proceeds going to Amnesty International.
The brainchild of label Manimal Vinyl, artists such as Grimes, Little Dragon, Moby and Liars will be avoiding the big hits, with the label ensuring the embrace of, ‘album cuts and B-sides rather than the worldwide smash hits that Duran Duran is known for’.
Cool concept, shame we won’t to see Moby’s beautiful shiny head boppin’ to ‘Girls on Film’ or Grimes dancing on the sand with little puppy friends to ‘Rio’, but still, we’re interested to see what they come up with.
Also we hope they all team up for a Duran Duran-esque photo a la the above, jumpsuits for the win!
