Like they do each and every year, Beatport has released the ‘Best of 2013’ for each genre based on their analytics and sales figures.
They’ve done it as a Top 10 for each sound this year, with the Bontan Remix / Pleasurekraft Edit of Josh Butler‘s ‘Got A Feeling’ taking the top spot for Deep House, ‘Soul Power ’74 (Sax Power 2K13)’ by Gary Caos reigning for House and one of my personal favourites for the year in Tube & Berger‘s ‘Imprint Of Pleasure’ winning the Tech House category after endless weeks at #1. Techno was won by Sam Paganini for the famous Cocoon Recordings and ‘Electronica’ – one of the most over-used genres on the site – held victory by Breach and Dark Sky in ‘The Click’; a tune probably more suited to deep house. Regardless, you can check out the top ten from each genre below and have a listen to the magnificent ‘Imprint of Pleasure’ as well – did you think there was a tune that should’ve, but didn’t, make the cut?
