Here’s all the dance tracks from Triple J’s Hottest 100 for 2020

Just like that Triple J’s Hottest 100 for 2020 has come and gone and with it, a pretty solid list of great music from around the globe as voted by the public!

Thankfully, dance and electronic got a look in with big burners from Flume, Stace Kadet & KLP, Gorgon City, Cosmos’ Midnight and more all making the cut.

While a portion of these aren’t straight club rompers, the artists behind the music have a strong background in the genre… be it sampling or performance or previous releases and why we included them!

So who made the cut?

By our calculation, there were 10 tracks from the Top 100 that fall under the dance/electronic category and making up 10% of the list.  Of those 10 tracks, a whopping 9 were from or involved an Australian artist (like Flume with his Eiffel 65 remix of “Blue” which came in at #54). He also topped the list of dance tracks in the Hottest 100 with his earworm “The Difference” featuring Toro Y Moi coming in at #3.

Other notable mentions go to mashup duo Mashd N Kutcher and their recent impromptu “Get On The Beers” remix at #12 as well as Stace Kadet and KLP’s room shaker “Energy” at #21. Just sneaking in under the top 50 was The Avalanches earned a respectable #35 placing with “Running Red Lights” taken from their latest album ‘We Will Always Love you’.

As expected from a less than focused dance station more electronic bites made a stronger surge on the final leg of the hottest 100. These included Sofi Tukker and Gorgon City at #77, FISHER at #80, Cosmo’s Midnight at #83 and Golden Features and ODESZA’s BRONSON project #88 respectively.

Check the list below;

#3 Flume – The Difference feat Toro Y Moi
#12 – Mashd N Kutcher – Get On The Beers feat Daniel Andrews
#21 Stace Kadet & KLP – Energy
#35 The Avalanches – Running Red Lights feat Rivers Cuomo/Pink Siifu
#50 Peking Duk & The Wombats – Nothing To Love About
#54 Eiffel 65 – Blue (Flume Remix)
#77 Sofi Tukker and Gorgon City – House Arrest
#80 FISHER – Freaks
#83 Cosmo’s Midnight & Ruel – Down For You
#88 BRONSON – HEART ATTACK feat lau.ra

Bonus, we’ve included the dance/electronic tracks that made the Hottest 101 to 200 as well! Again, these aren’t all strictly dance music heaters, but artists that are more known for their electronic pedigree.

#102 Disclosure – My High feat Aminé/slowthai
#108 Hooligan Hefs – SEND IT
#112 Kaytranada – 10%
#115 Pendulum – Nothing For Free
#120 Cosmo’s Midnight – Yesteryear
#126 Alison Wonderland and Valentino Khan – Anything
#132 Sonny Fodero and Dom Dolla – Moving Blind
#148 Crooked Colours – Love Language
#162 Khalid and Disclosure – Know Your Worth
#181 Choomba La Luh
#189 Alice Ivy – Ticket To Heaven feat Thelma Plum
#191 Alison Wonderland – Bad Things
#192 Frank Ocean – Dear April (Justice Remix)
#198 Pendulum – Driver

Checks the numbers… 14% from the Hottest 200!
