Premiere: James Pepper returns with sizzling new cut ‘Fool’s Paradise’

Rising Sydney-based DJ and producer, James Pepper, has returned with his latest saucy single, ‘Fool’s Paradise’ and we can’t get enough.

Having wooed us with steady joints including ‘Party track’ and ‘Your Lover’ in 2017, Pepper returns to the airwaves with his first release of the year, out via Australian imprint Finer Things. The imprint is home to German selector, Gerd Janson, who recently graced us with his presence and prominent Aussie, DJ Boring. Pepper’s latest release also features a string of stellar remixes from fellow label mates, Eduardo Muchacho, Elijah Something and Half Nelson.

‘Fool’s Paradise’ combines deep house elements with a number of lo-fi moments to create a super groovy atmosphere. The track commences with a throbbing, hearty baseline that underscores the entire 6:46 minutes. Layered upon this, is a succession of progressive synth claps which gives the record a soulful touch. This is enhanced with a distant vocal sample that offers a familiar vibe to the track and at times closely resembles a Mall Grab record.

The versatility in this jam is arguably its strongest asset. Not only could the listener enjoy James Pepper’s latest in their headphones on the way to work or on the radio-waves, but ‘Fool’s Paradise’ is certified for the dance-floor. The groovy house tones are only intensified by a persistent, and quite frankly, stunning beat, which would translate seamlessly to the expanses of a festival or club setup.

James Pepper has certainly hit the nail on the head with his latest single and we look forward to hearing more from the rising talent in 2018. Check out his latest single below, out now via Finer Things.
