If there is one thing we can all agree on, it’s that ticketing for events can be a confusing time consuming nightmare and nobody got time for that.
Enter Ticketmaster’s latest idea, which is to phase out paper tickets (it’s 2018, what even is a printed ticket?) and introduce the use of “cutting-edge facial recognition technology”…We’re wondering the same questions. How?! When?!
Parent company, Live Nation has notified investors of the partnership with biometric identification company – Blink Identity, of the possible idea automatically scanning and identifying your face that will be associated with the image on your digital ticket.
Nothing is rolling out as of yet and there are also hints of concerns regarding the customer database that would be needed in order to implement this complex ticketing system. But, it certainly sounds cool and is definitely something we can get behind. I mean, I already open my phone with my face so why not include tickets?
