After almost 2 years of hype surrounding Oculus Rift, virtual reality has been a major topic of conversation among gamers, tech enthusiasts and heart surgeons alike, with even rumours about remote VR surgery becoming a possibility in the near future. Nevertheless, Oculus Rift have introduced Reality Decks, a brand new app that allows the user to grasp the real experience of DJing within a digital realm.
Using gyroscopic technology, Reality Decks allows the user to create their own avatar, throw on some virtual wax and record their very own virtual DJ sets. The game features 10 tracks from a handful of featured artists along with a total of 25 audio stems to throw in the mix. In addition to serving as a perfect platform for users to hone their mixing skills, the app also allows the user to physically scratch the records for those who like to channel their inner A-Trak.
While virtual reality has only been an actual reality for a few years, VR technology is developing scarily faster than ever. Could this be the final apex predator of DJ hardware?
