There was plenty of hype leading into this one, but it is safe to say that Justice have delivered with their latest BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.
After a seven year hiatus from the BBC studios, the Ed Banger veterans have returned in full swing following the release of their third studio album ‘Woman’, with quite an abstract offering on hand.
In their own words, “we made this Essential Mix to show another side of the music that we love, and don’t get to play in clubs or festivals. It’s slow, moody and heavy and we hope you enjoy the ride”.
And enjoy it we did. Over two-hours of variations from the Parisian duo, with selections from the likes of Air, Frank Ocean, Gesaffelstein, Prince and Pink Floyd all keeping us on our toes.
The highly anticipated mix was set to be recorded back in November ahead of their new album’s release, however it was pushed back due to the guys being quite “busy”. Thankfully it is here now for us to delve into. Check it out right here, or below.
