SoundCloud Has Hidden The Repost Button And Users Aren’t Happy

SoundCloud has successfully confused everyone once again, this time by hiding the repost option on all tracks, playlists and albums.

The recent change has caused mass confusion for artists and users, who could simply repost a track with a single click of a button prior to this change. This was an easy way for users to support an artist’s music without too much hassle but with great benefits.

Although the repost option isn’t completely gone, it is now a two-step process which just seem ridiculous.

The new formatting depicts a ‘more’ option that is a drop down menu. From here to can chose to either repost, add to a playlist or a station. See below:

While SoundCloud claims this new feature is meant to de-clutter the site, some artists think it’s a bit silly. Parisian producer Nxxxxxs is one of them, who posted this earlier today:

Nanode was a little more frustrated, taking aim at SoundCloud via Twitter, stating that they are “ruining people’s careers”. But SoundCloud was ready for it.

Despite this obscure and potentially temporary change, we do support SoundCloud and hope for the best with this platform. Their decision to incorporate a ‘Stations‘ option earlier in the year was a successful move for the streaming platform, which has suffered a lot of issues in the last 12-months.

Hopefully they figure this one out pronto.
