Vinyl Heads Rejoice As ‘First Automated Pressing Plant In 30 Years’ Set To Arrive

With the vinyl resurgence in full swing, it seems that the popularity of the format is yet to hit its peak. However, with this rise in popularity has come a strain, as the limited number of pressing plants world wide struggle to keep pace with the craze.

Companies have been apprehensive to commit large investments in new and innovative pressing technologies, with fears that this craze may be short-lived causing concern.

This may be about to change, as Dallas-based pressing company Hand Drawn Records plans to construct the world’s first automated pressing plant in thirty years, with speed and efficiency at the forefront of the process.

Founded in 2014, Hand Drawn Records’ aim is to simplify the vinyl record ordering process, so as to allow musicians to focus on what they do best and that is write music and connect with fans, not learning the subtleties and nuances of vinyl manufacturing.

This news comes only months after Australia announced plans for a new vinyl plant, which is to be situated in Adelaide under the watchful eye of Roundabout Records. Showing that vinyl is here to stay, as another name is added to the list of emerging vinyl plants around the world.
