With less than a month until The Avalanches’ highly anticipated sophomore album is upon us, the Melbourne band have been acing the hype game.

We’ve heard the first track from the LP in “Frankie Sinatra“, a preview of “Subways” and even snippets of the whole album, and with weeks to go we are now hearing a gorgeous collaboration with US singer/producer Toro Y Moi.

The track – titled “If I Was A Folkstar” – premiered on triple j last night, and is a dreamy, Summer tune that allows Chazwick’s vocals to blossom on some eclectic production. The tune also hosts a sample from the Queens Of The Stone original “">You Think I Aint Worth A Dollar, But I Feel Like A Millionaire“. In my honest opinion, this is step forward from the first cut off the album in “Frankie Sinatra“.
