Lone’s new single is definitely a blast from the past. Channel inner Prodigy, ‘Backtail Was Heavy’ is a gritty rave classic from yesteryear. Seriously though, this is some retro shit that makes me want to break out the headband and neon rave pants for a return to the roots. Blending breaks with a pirate radio vibe, it’s almost as if a time machine brought this from the 90s.

As a strong follow up to Lone’s growing catalogue of unique electronic productions, the British musician continues to provide why he’s on the forefront of digital composition. Well on his way to his 6th album, ‘Backtail Was Heavy’ is coming out on the R&S-signed Levitate.

This video itself reflects the gritty British sound of the track. Shot in east London the drab looking landscape and smug locals paint a familiar picture of like in the UK streets.
