A look into the thriving underground music scene of an unexpected U.K city

Ever partied in Glasgow? If you haven’t, you may (or may not) be surprised to know that there is a thriving underground music scene that is turning heads on a global level.

The Glasgow Underground Music Scene ">documentary delves into the unique, secret partying world within the Scottish city. Though it might not hold the global status such as renowned party cities like Detroit or Berlin, the city of Glasgow certainly has it’s similarities in terms of a thriving underground music culture.

This short film was made by YouTube user ‘qnko9s‘ for a University project, and gives the viewer “insight into Glasgow’s finer DJs, aspiring talent, venues and make the audience draw parallels between Glasgow, Detroit and Berlin through the similarities in the cultural and historical landscapes that have helped shaped the cities music scenes.”

Numerous figure sin the Glasgow music industry share their knowledge and thoughts on the topic throughout the documentary, including the likes of Kiian McEvoy, David Barbarossa, Missing Person’s Club, and Stuart Cosgrove among others.

 

The film takes a focus on the industrial party throwers, illegal warehouse and farm parties, the thriving techno and house music scene, and the ‘Glasgow sound’.
