Nicolas Jaar Shares Rare Introspective With Free Album

Experimental electronic producer Nicolas Jaar surprised fans today by dropping a free 20-track album entitled “Pomegrantes”. Jaar, most commonly known for his 2011 classic ‘Space is Only Noise” has been a little quiet over the last year or so, working mainly with Dave Harrington (as Darkside) and birthing extravagant remixes of Florence and the Machine.

In a text file accompanying the release Jaar outlines the inspirations and origins of the tracks. Written before Nico had even seen the film by the same name, the album is a collection of un-used ideas, beats written for dancing water bugs and tracks written with whatever he had on hand, this is a beautiful work full of honesty and truth. A lot of these tracks were written independently of the film and in early 2015 a friend introduced him to the film and suddenly all these seeming distant pieces of music clicked together and made sense with the more abstract ideas of the film.

This is the second soundtrack release that Jaar has released in 2015 (after “Dheepan”, May 2015) and its available for free so grab a copy while you still can!
