Yeezy invites James Blake to collaborate on new music

Dubbing him his “favourite artist” last November in an interview with Rolling Stone, Kanye West – who’s about to tour Australia – has now officially invited James Blake to work with him in the studio. “I have been in contact with him,” Blake says, but adds there’s one roadblock: he doesn’t want to work in separate locations. “You know, the way that I like to work is bare bones and personal. I think because Kanye’s such an accomplished producer, if I was to work with him, then I think we could do something together, and just together, you know?” James, who recently shared an unreleased tune and had his ‘Life Round Here’ single covered by Angel Haze & Ellie Goulding, added in the interview that he “thought [Kanye’s invitation] was nice … I’ve been inspired by a lot of the music he’s made. I was certainly inspired by ‘Yeezus‘. It made me rethink what I’m doing. It’s one of those albums, whether you like it or not, it should impact you in that way.”

While nothing’s been confirmed as to whether they’ve actually worked on anything yet, we’re crossing our fingers for what could be an inspiring, unique piece of ass. Watch Blake perform ‘CMYK’ at Pitchfork Music Festival back in 2011 below:
