Rare Footage Of Daft Punk Performing With No Masks Has Been Unearthed

It’s been a big day for videos, following Kaytranada‘s RBMA lecture and the behind the scenes video of ‘Gosh’ by Jamie xx, now we get to dive into some Daft Punk.

The illustrious French duo always manage to pop their robot heads into music news, despite the fact they haven’t released original music since 2013’s ‘Random Access Memories’.

This time, however, we’re going back in time with a video from 1995 – the same year ‘">Da Funk‘ was recorded – that depicts the team of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo performing live with no masks in the Voorhuit Hall, Beligum.

Discovered on Reddit’s r/DaftPunk page, the 5-minute video shows the young dance music connoisseurs playing a hard-hitting acid house and tech house set, genres that Boys Noize delved into with his recent Daft Punk tribute mix.

In other recent Daft Punk news, the duo recently produced The Weeknd’s latest cut ‘Starboy‘, a taste of his next album. You can watch the film clip for ‘Starboy’ here.

Watch the video below, and soak up that 90’s FOMO.
