Flumes Remix of Arcade Fire Is 10 Minutes of Anthemic-Weirdness

Flume and Arcade Fire are undeniably two of the hottest properties in the world right now which is why the sudden surfacing of a remix by the Australian of the Canadian band has fans of both camps cheering!

It’s dreamy, it’s weird and of all things it’s a gamble as it steps away from the bass-led stuff a lot of fans would expect from the young producer. If anything might be a nod of respect to Arcade Fires own progressive nature after working with LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy on their latest album.

The remix actually follows a hang in Australia when both were on tour as part of now defunct festival Big Day Out;

I got the chance to hang out with Win from Arcade Fire on tour in Aus. He asked me if I’d like to do a remix. I wanted to try something a little more restrained, a slow burner. Here it is! – Flume

It follows equally experimental remixes by Flume of Seekae, Chet Faker and Lorde.

Which has got us thinking, Flume remixing Arcade Fire huh? What’s the chance of Arcade Fire lending some vocals to Flumes next album?

Flume will play this years Listen Out parties alongside Chet Faker, Schoolboy Q, ZHU, Bondax, Four Tet and more. Melbourne sold out, other states almost there. Grab your tickets now!
