At the age of 18, Melbourne new-coming singer-producer Gus Dingwall already has an impressive backlog of content spanning two years. Having featured recently on Paris producer Møme’s ‘">Medicine‘ and remixed fellow Melbourne local Zellow’s track ‘On You‘, Gus is now back with a track of his own.
Taking inspiration from Chet Faker and Ta-Ku, Gus interweaves his dreamy bedroom vocals perfectly with the production into ‘Downtown’, creating a soundscape of nostalgia. The single develops cohesively in texture, moving from smooth, layered harmonies featuring melodic synth bends and bouncy high-keys, to heart-melting instrumental breaks.
Have a listen to ‘Downtown‘ below. It makes for a brilliant testament of Gus Dingwall‘s potential, and we’re eagerly anticipating future releases.
