Finnish duo Shine 2009 are pleased to announce the release of their second album, ‘Our Nation’, out October 14th on Modular (Cascine in the US). For extra punch they’ve shared a new track ‘Older’, unveiled today and streamed below. The record includes their previous single ‘Eurozone’ which Pitchfork described as “a gentle collage of orchestrations, samples, and atmosphere.” If that wasn’t enough Montreal producer CFCF also remixed the track.
With respectful nods to downtempo, soul and golden-era hip hop, their 2010 debut EP ‘Associates’ showcased an undeniable ease and effortless confidence in both sound and feel. 2011 saw the Helsinki duo release their inaugural full-length ‘Realism’; a sumptuous and dazzling debut including a cameo from none other than Paula Abdul, strengthening the link between the way-back-then and the right-here-right-now ethos that is at the heart of the pair’s aesthetic.
Before the official release you are able to peep the tracklist and stream the three tunes below. Be keen for this one!
