Though his sound is definitely not quiet, we haven’t heard much from Canadian producer and trap-lord Lunice as of late (you might be familiar with his work as half of TNGHT alongside Hudson Mohawke). His latest release, Weather Man came out on LuckyMe’s advent calendar last Christmas, and before that it was mega-hit Can’t Wait To over a year ago. Today sees his first remix in a long time getting a release, of G Jones and Bleep Bloop’s track Mind.

Originally premiering on Zane Lowe’s Beats1 show earlier this week, Mind is absolutely nuts. Combining some crazy ethereal vocal samples with bumping bass and booming percussion, it is the perfect combination of wild and controlled. It moves from a bunch of different sounds as well – throwing in some classic trap bass with faster percussion and different sounding synths and samples all throughout. Given that it’s the same progression of notes throughout, it keeps it all really interesting, rather than making it sound like it’s trying too much.

Mind is the first release of a debut EP collab (also called Mind) between G Jones and Bleep Bloop, getting released on November 3^rd. With a track like this as its first release, it’s bound to be absolutely massive. Fingers crossed that we can get more Lunice remixes and originals of this size in the very near future.
