Burning Man To Get One Of It’s Biggest Art Installations Yet

It’s no secret that Burning Man is a YOLO affair with everything over the top in size, energy and craziness with this year set to feature one of the most ambitious projects yet.

Non-profit organisation Big Imagination who last year built the embrace structure – a pair of wooden humans holding each other, have teased something even bigger with the 100 strong group currently working on a full sized Boeing 747 and turning it in into a “giant, movable, interactive experience” as explained by organisers;

“In 2015 we will bring to Burning Man one of the largest and most inspiring art installations the community has even seen. This is a real Boeing 747 that we are modifying into a giant, movable, interactive experience for Burning Man 2015 and many years to follow”

Those looking for some scale, here are some stats;

– The 747 tail height is 63 ft 6 in (19.5 m), equivalent to a six-story building
– The 747 is 250+ feet long
– The 747 Freighter could hold approximately 19 million ping-pong balls or golf balls

Ps thanks for the fun facts Boeing.com

All in all this is set to be a seriously big ass project that will certainly blow away those lucky enough to attend Burning Man this year. Check out the behind the scenes footage below.
