Patrick Topping remixes The Streets ‘Who’s Got The Bag’

File under things we didn’t expect to write today. Tech-house guide Patrick Topping has remixed The Streets and their latest tongue in cheek single “Who’s Got The Bag”.

He’s not the only one to give it a ‘reebag’ with Seth Troxler, Eats Everything, Solardo and Flava D also giving it a finesse.

The new track is somewhat of a classic offering from the English rap project led by Mike Skinner. His initial fame came in 2002 with the release of the debut album ‘Original Pirate Material’ that featured the breakout single “Don’t Mug Yourself’.

Since then has been another four studio albums (ha) and now, a new track dubbed “Who’s Got The Bag”. On a quick listen it’s a pretty simple wonky sounding track with a couple of horns, piano section and repeated vocal chops. Those wondering about the name can look to the popularity of cocaine in the UK as a clue.

Of the remixes, our picks are Patrick Topping and Solardo who bring a bit more energy to the original and encapsulate the current rave sound.
