BIGSOUND has been cancelled for 2021

In sad but not unexpected news, Bigsound has been cancelled for the second consecutive year in a row.

The organisers have released a statement saying, ‘The ongoing NSW lockdown combined with Melbourne’s snap lockdown, increasing uncertainty around border closures and capacity restrictions have made it painfully clear that BIGSOUND cannot responsibly take to the stage in September.’

Bigsound is largely seen as Australia’s musical equivalent of SXSW, attracting the best new musicians and music industry from across the country to showcase their work to a broad Australian and international community.

Although the music showcase festival has been forced into hiatus, they have indicated that they’ll plug on and try again next year.
