Mr Carmack is on top of his game right now, following some banging remixes for ‘Bodak Yellow’ and Chromeo’s ‘Fancy Footwork’, he’s laid his masterful hands on this Montell 2099 x 21 Savage collab track ‘Hunnid on the Drop’. Diving further into his knack for blending hip-hop and electronic so effectively, he turns this dope hip-hop track into a filthy trap banger.

The beat is a thumper, with heavy bass and loud kicks carrying the steady groove. The drop comes in rather suddenly but smoothly and will guarantee to set PA systems afire. 21’s bars flow very nicely over this reworking of the beat, they’re a little sped up from the original but it’s barely a noticeable change and makes the track work super nicely. It’s a pretty nasty take on the chill track, which just shows how Carmack’s ears can here the lit remix in anything. His sound design is a lot less eerie and cloudy than the original version’s, but we can honestly say it holds it’s own against it.
