New Zealand wunderkind VILLETTE is pretty much a boss. The multi-talented artist released a brooding RnB influenced track titled If You Go and it’s incredibly sultry and passionate.

VILLETTE’s soulful and hypnotic vocals glides over a slow and minimal hip-hop groove allowing her voice to steal the spotlight. VILLETTE kept it simple. Less is more. Her production is smooth, seductive, has a thunderous 808 adding that oomph to it (you’ll know exactly what I mean) and acts as the perfect backdrop for her effortless voice. VILLETTE’s rhythmic rapping adds a little flair and mixes things up while basically proving that she’s killing it in the game. The subtle use of covering explicit words with a chime sounding synth and vinyl scratch adds sophistication and class to her track. Even the little things like that can play a huge role when you’re looking at the big picture.

Going the extra mile in If You Go, Villette has cleverly layered and structured all her vocals to create a harmonically-rich and fulfilling atmosphere as well as creating a call-and-response effect between her hooks and rap verses.
