Live Nation Reveals ‘Festival Passport’ For The Music Loving Globetrotter

Subscription services are the new black. Spotify, Youtube, Netflix, Stan, whatever – but music festivals? Live Nation, aka probably the biggest tour, gig and festival organiser in the world, has just come out with the first “festival passport”.

Behind such names as Lollapalooza, Creamfields, EDC, Parklife, Bonnaroo and almost a hundred more, this is one hot ticket. The passport, costing $799USD (that’s $1073.78AUD as of right now), guarantees the holder admission to any Live Nation festival the world over, whether it’s sold out or not. If you’re hoping to camp, all you’ve got to do is contact Live Nation atleast two weeks before it kicks off so they can reserve you a spot, but otherwise it seems to be super flexible in coming and going whenever you please.

Considering each of these festivals costs you a pretty penny on its own, the festival passport could be the next big thing for dedicated fans of tunage everywhere. Could we be seeing something similar happening for doofs and gigs at home? Astral People did a similar deal for their Summer Dance shows in 2015 – maybe it’s time to revisit the idea?

The Live Nation festival passport goes on sale on the 22nd of May at 10am Pacific Standard Time (PST), which for us down under is actually the 23rd of May at 3am AEDT. Get those mice ready.
