Djemba Djemba Unloads On Twitter Again, Says ‘EDM Festivals Are Not The Future’

First and foremost, can people stop using Twitter to go on huge rants? The character limit and formatting make them difficult to follow.

But lucky there’s me to give you the run down on Djemba Djemba’s latest Twitter tirade. Let’s break it down into a tldr;…

  • Djemba believes most young artists are set up to believe labels are there to help them, but then come to realise that they only ‘benefit the owners’.
  • He then states people need to be rewarded for their creativity through DIY and nods towards Chance The Rapper.
  • Then he says that established producers steal ideas from up and comers on Soundcloud and that this is ‘no secret’.
  • He states than an NDA is stopping him from naming names.
  • Djemba follows by saying ‘EDM festivals are not the future’ and believes ‘they are not an inclusive space for new ideas’.
  • He suggests that artists tackle all platforms of art including film and literature to return power.
  • He then goes on to explain how music is run through analytics and that music should be controlled by the artist.

You can read it all below, and read out his previous rant towards the evil side of the music industry here.
