Brisbane Club-Night Ransom Is Throwing A Massive First Birthday Shin-Dig

Following a lot of uncertainty and eventual relief for the future of Brisbane’s nightlife, it feels great to know that the scene is still thriving.

One party particularly, Ransom, is just about to tip into their second year in business, which – given the political weight that Brisbane’s club scene has been under the past 12-months – is bloody good to see.

To celebrate their 1st birthday throw-down this Friday, the bass-loving crew at Ransom have tee’d up Perth two-piece Command Q on headline duties, who recently supported the big dog Carnage on the Brisbane stop of his Aussie tour.

We caught up with Revelry Entertainment Bookings Director and one of the masterminds behind Ransom, Hugh Foster, to get a run-down on some of the highlights of their first year:

1. Marshmello’s first Brisbane club show

There was a huge amount of buzz on the show, plus Quix also played his debut met show, music was amazing and the atmosphere was insane! Definitely two stand-out sets of last year.

2. Yellow Claw mid year show

Again, a huge amount of vibe on their return to The MET. Their sets always have so much energy and variation, plus they’re absolute legends to hang out with and they are all so humble.

3. Snails, Crankdat , Noy – Debut show in the main room for Snails & Crankdat.

All three acts had so much heat on them playing all on the one night. Noy and then Crankdat set the room up perfectly with their high energy trap and bass sets, then Snails jumped on to a crazy rammed room and delivered one of the dopest bass heavy sets of the year.

4. Party Thieves and Blackjack

When you meet Jared (PT) he’s one of the nicest guys in the industry so respectful and humble, but when he hits the stage something amazing happens, the energy he brings to the stage is second to none and he always puts on such an amazing Dj skilled show. The legendary Blackjack from Chinese Laundry / Sydney played his debut spot in the main room on this night also and showed everyone why he’s considered one of Sydneys best bass music acts!

5. Ztrip & Cesqeaux

What a way to close out the second last Friday of the year with the legendary Ztrip and young Borong Family superstar Cesqeaux. Ztrip has been one of my favourite acts for many years now and to see him infuse his classic hip hop party set in with some absolutely banging bass tunes was amazing, he still remains one of my favourite all time acts.  Cesqeaux then closed out the night with some of the dopest banging trap and bass this year. He’s got a back catalog of all of the freshest jams and I was blown away with his professionalism and delivery of set!!

The birthday soirée will be taking place at The Met in Brisbane this Friday. You can find out more about the event on their Facebook event. See you there!
