It was shut down in January, 2015 as a result of the lockout laws, but the iconic Sydney pub, Flinders Hotel, may be returning very soon.
According to sources who spoke with Concrete Playground, the popular hotel and live music venue will be reopening in the very near future, even with the (slightly relaxed) lockout laws still in place.
A spokesperson for the new management team taking over the venue said they “very confident we can turn things around. “[We’ve] changed the whole complexion…[we’re] not just a late night venue anymore.”

But one of the big issues facing Sydney’s nightlife is indeed live music friendly venues. However, in maintaining that classic Flinders vibe, the new management confirm the venue will be a place of music.
“We’re connected with a lot of Sydney bands and a lot of DJs,” the spokesperson said. How good?
Even better, the venue is supposedly set to reopen before the year is out. This has not been confirmed, but that is what they are aiming for. Great news for Sydney!
