Carl Craig Announces New Album That Takes Techno To An Orchestral Level

Carl Craig has revealed an experimental album is on the horizon in which the Detroit local will be pairing techno with an orchestra.

Sounds pretty damn good, right? Well the concept was birthed back in 2008 when Craig when he teamed up with Les Siècles, Moritz von Oswald and Francesco Tristan with a stellar live performance that was the first to combine electronic and classical composition.

Speaking on the project, Craig says “Versus is my desire and dream come true to have my music interpreted by an orchestra.”

Now, 8-years on, the material is set to be recorded and released as an 8-track album. As well as this, Craig will be touring the live performance next year, with the first dates being announced next month. That will definitely not be one to miss.

For now, wrap your ears around two early cuts from the album that premiered on Benji B’s BBC Radio 1 show here.
