Sydney-based producer Balki has developed a silky, melodic trap-influenced sound that never fails to impress me. His recent rework of Coldplay classic ‘Fix You’ is a standout, a composition comprised full of emotion.

Elegant chords and angelic vocals lay the foundation for the track, with intricate percussion being slowly introduced. With complex drum patterns sitting atop a booming, clean sub-bass, Balki perfectly intertwines simple production with emotion-evoking attributes.

Balki has slowly been building a name for himself over the past year, releasing consistently great tracks with the likes of Akacia & Latu among others. ‘Guide You’ is a great song from the young artist and if this is any indication of what his forthcoming music will be like – the producer is in for a big 2017.
