British DJ and Producer, Hannah Wants, has been in hot water recently as the electronic music scene has almost collectively pointed out the similarities between her track ‘Found The Ground‘ and the 2012 track ‘Mercy VIP‘ by Joy Orbison & Boddika.
A video posted to producer Patrick Namezi’s Facebook (a video which has since been deleted,) stacked the two tracks next to each other, without adjusting the BPM, and pointed out that it’s basically “the same track!”
Now, Hannah Wants has hit back at the criticism on her own Facebook page, with what she says will be her “first and last comment” on the matter:
In the post, Hannah defends her track, claiming that although there are “similarities,” they are not identical. To her defence, Chris Lorenzo opened up in a recent interview with THUMP about the fact that he ghost produced several of Hannah Wants most popular tracks, so it might not even be Hannah who created the track in the first place.
