Stranger Things Soundtrack Drops This Week!

Stranger Things doesn’t really need an introduction anymore, it’s pretty much been all everyone is talking about for the past month.

The soon-to-be cult followed (if not already) Netflix series will be releasing it’s official soundtrack sooner than expected. As in this week!

News of the soundtrack late last month and has been causing big waves throughout the music world. The internet has been raving with remakes of the theme song – one by our own Luke Million that caused quite a large reaction – as well as Stranger Things inspired mixtapes from the likes of DJ Yoda.

The men behind the music, Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein who (work together as the band S U R V I V E) have composed the soundtrack which is set to drop on August 12. In a Facebook post by Stranger Things official page, the soundtrack will come in two volumes, the first dropping on Friday and the second coming on the 19th of August.

Speaking on the production of the soundtrack, Stein says “We discussed having a classic tone and feel to the music for the show but being reserved enough that it wasn’t ’80s cheese, while offering a refreshing quality so that felt modern.”

“This was one of the qualities that drew them to our music in the first place. Having a familiarity with classic synths worked, but with an overall forward thinking approach.”

Here is hoping we get some vinyl releases of what will certainly be a timeless composition.
