Canadian electronic act Tennyson which is made up of Luke and Tess Pretty have shown over the past two years that their heavily classical inspired music is a force to be reckoned with. Ever since hearing Lay-by – in which they sampled an ajar car door beep, I’ve become fixated by their music.
Yesterday, they released their EP ‘Like What’ for free via Bandcamp which features a total of six songs. From Tess’ impeccable yet strangely syncopated drum work and percussion to Luke’s calculated melodies and pulsating synth rhythms – ‘Like What’ is nothing short of angelic. Unique swing and personality add a level of cohesion to Tennyson’s production – a certain attribute a lot of music often lacks.
Paired with the release included an interview and story regarding the two, and a ">short film filled with B-roll footage and an overdubbed interview.
