3lau Shows Off His Versatility with ‘Alive Again EP’

With summer festival season in full swing and successful tour across Europe under his belt, Las Vegas native and former mashup guru Justin Blau is ready to showcase his musicianship. Debuting July 2nd on trance king Armin van Buuren‘s A State of Trance radio show, 3lau‘s progressive trance tune “Alive Again” was officially released on July 5th on Armada Music. Previously collaborating with producers such as Cosmic Gate, Dash Berlin, and Gareth Emery, vocalist Emma Hewitt is no stranger to adding her angelic voice to trance tracks. “Alive Again” opens with the soulful vocals from Emma Hewitt infused with a soothing piano melody. As the track builds with progressive synths and drums, a high energy trance drop explodes, releasing an abundance of emotion.

Wanting to do something unique while highlighting his different musical styles, 3lau introduces us to his ‘Alive Again‘ EP. The EP features three different styles of “Alive Again”: the original, experimental, and acoustic. Each version is created with different sound production techniques to engage any listener. Whether you’re feeling relaxed, pumped up, or just want to drift away in your thoughts, each track is beautifully mastered to showcase his versatility.

The Alive Again EP is the evolution of that fascination that I have with sound. The concept of that in literature is called intertextuality – the idea that every creative concept is influenced by a variety of creative predecessors. I’m using it as a framework for everything I make moving forward, taking bits and pieces of musical influence from lots of different genres and injecting it in dance music.” -3lau
