Summer has official arrived down under, and what better way to celebrate the advent of sweaty BBQ’s in the backyard, overpriced iced confectionary at Bondi and bronzed bodies in little to no clothing, than with a bunch of handpicked tracks perfect for poolside partying.
The brains behind long-standing brand Toolroom Records, have compiled the new summer-centric compilation, aptly titled ‘Poolside Australia’, which signals the 4th edition in the population mix series from the UK label powerhouse. Just like the Miami, Ibiza and Croatia editions before it, ‘Poolside Australia’ aims to channel that uniquely ‘Aussie’ summertime experience, with a collection of 33 melody heavy, sun-drenched jams from around the globe.
The compilation opens with a remix of UK house babes Eli & Fur and underground legend, Shadow Child by new comer, Davidian entitled ‘Seeing Is Believing’, that perfectly captures the spirit of the LP’s relaxed, deeply grooving timbre. Brand new cuts from Cyclist, Framewerk and Marco Tegui rear their heads throughout the two disc epic, as well as notable remixes from German masters of funk, Satin Jackets, Canadian party starter Pat Lok and Chicago house staples, Rouge Vogue.
In short, if you’re looking for a must-have mix to see you through the summer months, then Toolroom’s Poolside Australia is for you. A pleasurable collision of cuts from the worlds of deep, piano and tropical house, with a dash of disco and chill wave thrown in for good measure, Poolside Australia is the answer to every Aussie’s summer playlist prayers.
