Jamie XX To Score New Ballet For Manchester Festival

Jamie XX has been running around in the background this 2014 with a slate of low key single releases and collaborations, the man is one for quality and with his success the freedom to chase projects motivated by creative opportunity and oozing with a certain style.

Next July Jamie XX will score a new ballet to premiere at Manchester International Festival, the work will be a performance based on Jonothan Safran Foer’s Tree Of Codes.

Taking care of the visual side of the project will be artist Olafur Eliasson (featured below) and choreography will be by Wayne McGregor and performed by the Paris Opera Ballet.

Recently the drum guy confirmed that there will be a solo album on the way alongside another full-length from The xx, sadly not captured in their Guggenheim performance.

Jamie xx will also be in the country shortly to play a string of dates including Field Day alongside Cashmere Cat, Danny Brown, Todd Terje, Tycho and more.
