Sometimes Final Djs delve into the funkier side of things, and that’s just fine. Their new remix of The Knocks feat St. Lucia “Modern Hearts” is a good example of why it’s good to have a bit of wiggle room in your genre.

This is immediately recognized as a more disco version of the tune, featuring classic guitar licks and well mixed vocals. While the original track is very energetic in its own right, this slows down a bit but still packs a ton of energy, albeit in a different guise.

Some listeners might think it calls to mind Cheryl Lynn’s “Got to be Real,” and while this is definitely funk in that style, it still carries Final Dj’s signature synthwave edge. Check out the free download below.
