The Stocksaur DJ Team is Cologne’s vinyl dynamos, Denis Stockhausen and Jo Saurbier, who also both have worked for Kompakt buying and selling records. Prepare to be slayed by their seamlessly arranged hour-and-a-half mix for week 3 of Kompakt’s Advent Drop series.

It’s no surprise the two are a goldmine of musicology–Saurbier has been a vinyl collector since 1994, Stockhausen is a resident at Gewölbe Club in Cologne, and back in September, the two played a monster 8-hour extended DJ set at Berghain’s garden.

A few standouts in their Advent Drop include: the regal opener named for them, “Stocksaur” by Jürgen Paape feat. Mounya Rezzoug; the sultry “Down You Will Get (DJ Sotofett’s AM Mix)” by D-Ribeiro; “Palm Leaves (Deetron Remix Dub)” by Gerd, which definitely drips with Deetron’s magic touch; and “" target="_blank">Your body is my body (Troy Pierce sharing is caring mix)” by Ellen Allien–who is one of Stockhausen’s idols.

The entire set is an altogether magical auricular journey, beginning and ending with the same track of thunderstorm sounds by Thor–and not to mention, an appearance by Bruce Springsteen.
