Something of a diamond in the rough (though steadily making big moves), Mao is a personal favorite. We previously showcased their “Emeralds“ and “Harken“ which were stunning in their own right. Now we have “Remember” from an upcoming EP. Hard to say how much I’m feeling this one. UNGH! Punchy 808 kicks, big reverbed sounds, and a supremely mystical 90’s vocal chord lead. This all equals one thing. Awesome. I feel like I’m exploring an ancient temple…in space. Only one question remains. Who are these guys?!
