Following the tragic events that occurred in Las Vegas last week, Diplo (born Thomas Wesley Pentz) has called on his fellow DJ’s to donate to families of the victims of the largest mass shooting in American history.
Diplo took to social media to announce he would be donating $100 000 US (roughly $130 000 AUD) to the victims and families of this tragedy. In his address, he challenged “any other DJ who works in Vegas, club owners and hotel owners to match the donation… to keep the conversation going and to keep Vegas strong”.
It appears that his call to arms have been met, with many DJ’s including Dillon Francis (who pledged a further $100,000 to the victims of the Puerto Rico hurricane), Tiesto, The Chainsmokers, Steve Aoki and Valentino Kahn vowing to donate sizeable amounts to the fund.
Gonna do the same but half to Vegas half to Puerto Rico #VegasStrong #PuertoRicoStrong https://t.co/qiaTM4A28j

In a time of despair for all Americans, it’s great to see so many well known producers stand up and help contribute to create social change.
