Vice Media shuts down electronic music website Thump

As part of a hit of layoffs across Vice Media, the electronic music stronghold Thump has is officially shutting down.

According  to Variety, Vice has had to clamp down on spend and has let go of 2% of their huge staff in the US, Europe and the UK in a bid to increase staff elsewhere and launch offices in Mumbai and Dubai. As a result, Thump is no more.

Taking to Twitter over the weekend, Editor Michelle Lhooq confirmed the news in the way of a homage post to ARCA’s shoes. See below.

Launching in 2013, Thump dedicated itself to all things electronic and presented top-quality reporting, interviews, reviews and more for it’s wide readership.
