Sydney’s well-renowned party people Motorik have introduced Artist Series – their new concept party that provides two artists with sets that span all night long.
Taking place at their new Sydney digs Ricardo’s, the debut edition is seeing two of Motorik’s youngest and most exciting signees to saddle up and play all night.
In the words of Motorik, “Artist Series is about creating an opportunity for those who play to build a night from start to finish, leading the dance floor wherever they feel appropriate – something which is not so easily achieved in short peak time sets.”
This week’s edition sees Made in Paris and McLean & Mai blend their two streams of techno to provide the Ricardo’s crowd with something they may have not seen before – a night of hypnotic, leftfield dance music. Made in Paris is coming off the back of her Triple J mixes, one for the Friday lunchtime mix and one for the Saturday Mix Up. She has just put out her latest single Canopies on Melbourne’s Recovery Collective while also managing her own label Upon Access, so you’re bound to hear some juicy exclusives throughout the night.
McLean & Mai are somewhat favourites here at the Stoney Roads office – you may remember our interview with them earlier this year to celebrate their sophomore EP release. The two Sydney boys are sure to slam Ricardo’s with the very best of crunching hardware and belting kicks. After settling back in their hometown from a busy period of touring their latest release, McLean & Mai are ready to kick things off again, and this is one you can’t miss.
Outside of the lockout zone, Artist Series 1 takes place this Friday 21st April at Ricardo’s from 10pm till late. Tickets available on the door for $10 before midnight.
