It is that festive time of the year once again where everyone starts to slacken off at work a little more, drinks begin to flow a little more and everyone just gets a little sillier. That also means it is the time triple j put the call out to listeners to help compile the Hottest 100 count.

The annual run-down popular tracks played over the past 12-months always breeds a lot of hype, and to be fair it’s always exciting to see who lands the number one spot.

There have definitely been a few big hitters this year, and in the dance music realm, all eyes are fixated on Flume. And for good reason.

However, there are plenty of other artists in the running year, including a bunch of young guns on the way up. Enschway, Young Franco, Jess Kent, Fortunes. and Kllo are some of many that we have loved in 2016.
