Excitement overload!

The xx have come out of left field announcing they are working on a new album.

The news follows last week’s revelation that the group are playing their first live shows in over two years, teeing up gigs in Poland, Croatia and the Czech Republic, Japan and South America stops in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Colombia.

(Unfortunately, no word of an Australian tour as of yet, but with a new album in the cooker we can sure a world tour will follow.)

The London based three-piece – made up of Jamie xx, Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim – took to Facebook this morning to reveal the news, throwing in an additional playlist of songs they have been listening too of late, as a way to hold us all of.

They write “It’s been a while but you’ve been on our minds! We are in the studio working on our third album, it feels so good to be together making new music.”

The coming album will be the third from the group, and a highly anticipated follow-up to 2012’s ‘Coexist’.
