Listen To The First Track Off The Avalanches New Album

After teasing and pointing to new music through a video trailer and tour dates, Melbourne natives The Avalanches have officially returned. Debuting their new single, ‘Frankie Sinatra’ during Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, the track takes the Avalanches into hip-hop territory with guest features from Danny Brown and DOOM.

Minutes after the premiere, the band confirmed a new album is scheduled for release July 8, titled ‘Wildflower‘. Guests on the 21-trackinclude Father John Misty, Toro y Moi, Jonathan Donahue of Mercury Rev, Jennifer Herrema of Royal Trux, Camp Lo, Biz Markie, and Warren Ellis of Dirty Three.

The Avalanches last release came in 2000, with ‘Since I Left You’ confirming the band as one of the coolest acts of their time. The album peaked at No. 8 in the UK, No. 10 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic albums and is now regarded by many as one of the greatest releases of the 90’s.

‘Frankie Sinatra’ arrives ahead of the Avalanches’ first comeback show at Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona, Spain. Theres also a homecoming date, with the Avalanches performing at Splendour in the Grass (Byron Bay) July 22.
