I know we’re certainly on the tail end of “Runaway (U+I)” remixes for their competition that has seemingly taken over the internet, but this groovy rendition from LBCK is too good not to share. The electro funk duo from Long Beach lay chunky guitar riffs and sparkling nuances to Galantis’ dance floor stomper, a well-crafted change of pace for the Cali boys. They also had a few words to share:

“To be honest, we found the acapella for ‘Runaway’ online and were not aware there was a remix contest for the tune until after we had completed our rendition. We were just excited enough to have an opportunity to work with the lovely vocal as it is. For the production, we didn’t want to lose any of the emotion that the vocals elicit, but we also wanted to keep things playful and funky for the most part. Finding a balance was tough, but we are both happy with the result. Glad to share it with you guys.” – LBCK
