In what appears to be a true throw back to the glory days of early morning, children’s television. I’m thinking Street Sharks, Biker Mice from Mars… Samurai Pizza Cats! Diplo and the Major Lazer crew are set the premier the series based around the infamous Major Lazer this Sunday the 26th of October at midnight on the Fox Network, as apart of FFX Animation Domination High-Def.

In less than 48 hours the Major will be leading the assault on evil but no matter how much of a boss crime fighter you are side kicks are essential (unless your in a crime fighting squad like the Street Sharks, Captain Planet or Ninja Turtles) Cue ‘Free the Universe collaborator and lead singer of Vampire Weekend, Ezra Koenig. He voices the character Rylan, who logically is a vampire and one of the Major’s two trust worthy sidekicks. The other ‘Penny’ is a schoolgirl, possibly inspired by inspector gadgets daughter/side kick Penny? Who knows, either way I’m confident she’ll bring the pain when the villains ‘General Rubbish’ and ‘President Whitewall’ step a little too far out of line.

It looks like a ton of classic hero vs. villain fun backed up by the musical works of Major Lazer. With a new album on the way It’s quite possible we may see some of the upcoming material feature on the series. Madonna/Lorde collabs plz.
